Enjoy an unforgettable morning with rescued elephants at the Elephant Freedom Project, located in the beautiful mountains of northern Thailand. Upon arrival at the sanctuary, guests change into traditional Karen clothing before meeting our experienced mahout guides. During a short educational session, you will learn about the elephants we have rescued and how they are cared for at the sanctuary.

Guests then participate in preparing a nutritious feast for the elephants before hand-feeding them and observing their personalities up close.

Next, enjoy a peaceful elephant jungle hike, walking alongside the elephants as they explore the forest, forage for food, and play naturally in their environment. Watching the elephants interact with the jungle and each other is a truly memorable experience.

Following the hike, guests enjoy a vegetarian Thai lunch overlooking the elephants, surrounded by the tranquil mountain scenery of the Mae Wang valley. Throughout the experience, our knowledgeable mahout guides share insights about elephant behavior, traditional elephant care, and the importance of ethical elephant tourism.

At the Elephant Freedom Project, we do not offer elephant riding and never force elephants to participate in activities. All interactions occur naturally and at the elephants’ pace, ensuring a respectful and authentic experience.
